Project case study
Maggie Gowan
New website launched for award-winning independent curator
Summary
Maggie Gowan is an independent curator and exhibition organiser who specialises in dealing with photography of the natural world.
Objective
Maggie needed a site that gave a picture of her work and the services she provides in time for her to capitalise on winning a major award. Her latest exhibition: Exposed: Climate Change in Britain’s Backyard, which was produced for the National Trust in association with Magnum Photos, won a Clarion Award from the IVCA (International Visual Communications Association) for its unique contribution to both business and society
Solution
Having worked with National Trust and in partnership with some big name established photo libraries, Maggie’s design needed to convey the serious but restrained feel that is appropriate to the market she is targetting. On behalf of Weedoo.tv, BridgingUnit developed a website to a simple, flexible grid which allowed for various layout possibilities, and produced a design which retained an elegance in presentation without overwhelming the most important material: the content, and particularly, the photography showcased.
Though to a tight deadline, the new site was launched just in time to make the most of the award. You can see more detail of the exhibition at her site.
What they said
“I have been absolutely delighted with my new website. The design is innovative and classy portraying the main subject of photography brilliantly. It works creatively as well as practically through its excellent and uncomplicated navigation.
In a very short space of time BridgingUnit managed to design and create a dynamic site that fulfilled my business objectives whilst also incorporating an identity that reflected my personality and work.
They have been proactive in finding creative solutions for the best possible results and a pleasure to do business with. I would recommend them to anyone who needs to produce and maintain a website.”
