Making photos the star
Summary
Russ Bell is a portrait photographer who specialises in photos of Brighton’s nightlife.
Objective
Russ is a cheerful, fun and sociable photographer who has become the photographer of choice for Brighton’s nightlife and its burgeoning burlesque scene. He’s also provided photos for the tongue-in-cheek Chap magazine.
Solution
He needed a website to help showcase his talent and BridgingUnit produced an easy to use interactive photo-viewing portfolio. The aim was to make something that was simple and elegant, but restrained so that it wouldn’t distract from the photos. It is a clever solution built using Flash, combined with the very helpful SWX that allows him to leverage the photo service Flickr as a platform.
We’ve also given him technical help and advice on using the social networks MySpace and Facebook, though he’s such an engaging, friendly fellow that we’ve probably learnt more from him about networking than he has from us.
