Dynamic websites & applications
Fewer and fewer websites today are made solely of static pages. Often you can take advantage of databases and programming languages to simplify the design process for more complex sites or applications.
Dynamic websites are more easily updateable as the form and content are separated, so areas of a site that need regular updates or which have an identical structure can often benefit. Here are some applications that BridgingUnit has built:
- Glossary - including search engine, alphabetical pages, synonyms, suggest a term
- Events system - filter and search based system that listed events by date, theme and activity
- Image gallery - dynamic gallery that hooks up to Flickr to show images by category in thumbnails and then in full
- Project management extranet - allowing clients to view and update progress on a project. Included scheduling, file sharing, news, contacts and contributors
- Competition submission scheme - Entrants can register, choose category, pay for entry and then submit entries. Judges can view and shortlist.
- CMS - page-based content management system that also included modules for managing links, downloads, FAQs
